WDA urges top 10 Billionaires and AI Leaders to create a world where progress is guided by conscience and technology is illuminated by compassion

The World Dog Alliance (WDA) has worked tirelessly to promote explicit legislation banning the consumption of dogs and cats worldwide, and has advocated for the International Agreement to Prohibit the Eating of Dogs and Cats to build a global cooperative framework. This sends a clear message to the world: dogs and cats are human companions, not food.

At this pivotal moment in civilization when technological advancement in the form of AI is rapidly changing the way we live, the contributions of dogs must not be forgotten; their sacrifice and loyalty are the ethical foundation upon which humanity should build its AI future.

WDA has therefore written to the top 10 billionaires and AI leaders in the world to urge them to rethink how AI can enhance the welfare of dogs and cats — promoting values that protect life and extend empathy through technology. We believe that a single message from these leaders could inspire the global tech community and younger generations to rethink the meaning of “civilization” in a world where technology and ethics must advance together.

In his letter Genlin, founder of WDA puts this succinctly : "As humanity enters the AI revolution, technology is not only transforming human life but also redefining the relationship between humans and animals. In the coming AI era, the revolution will extend beyond robots and automation to machine dogs, robotic guide dogs, and intelligent rescue systems. Through advancements in AI, we can design safe robotic dogs to perform high-risk missions, protecting real dogs from injury or death; we can develop robotic guide dogs and emotional companion systems, expanding the ethical frontiers of human–animal coexistence."

WDA strongly believes that the progress of AI should not only benefit humans but also offer new opportunities to protect dogs and cats and to elevate the dignity of life. The batch of letters was sent to the following top 10 billionaires and AI leaders, who helm some of the most important tech companies in the world:

  • Elon Musk, Larry Ellison, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Bernard Arnault, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Jensen Huang, Steve Ballmer, Michael Dell
