Golden Dog Awards are each year given by WDA to individuals or organisations who made outstanding contributions to the banning of dog and cat meat. The awards are each year presented in a different city and on 926 Dog Lovers' Day as part of the 926 celebrations.

Guangyuan Boai Animal Protection Center

One of the most representative animal protection activists in Mainland China. She has long actively protested, rescued, and campaigned against eating dog meat at events like the Yulin Dog Meat Festival.

The Taiwan N.O.E. Action Organization consists of several heavily tattooed, burly men who voluntarily rescue abused and victimized small animals, investigate animal protection cases, carry out stray animal TNR, and hold life education lectures. After Taiwan passed legislation banning the consumption of cat and dog meat on April 11, the World Dog Alliance funded Taiwan N.O.E. Action to form a 30-person team to assist Taiwanese police in enforcing the ban.

Lorraine Lu

Animal Protection Association 

A senior Taiwanese media professional who previously served as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Animal Protection Association of the Republic of China. She founded the Taiwan Animal News network to cover animal news professionally and raise public awareness about animals. Ms. Lu has spared no effort in improving animal welfare. Since 2015, she has assisted the World Dog Alliance in contacting multiple Taiwanese legislators, contributing to Taiwan passing amendments to the Animal Protection Act on April 11, 2017, which comprehensively banned the consumption of cat and dog meat.
